Kenya's 2022 General Elections
The Constitution of Kenya mandates that general elections be held every five years.
Jubilee administration is in its final days in office and the political environment is already heating up ahead of the next elections scheduled for August 9th, 2022 in Kenya.
There will be elections for the President, members of the National Assembly and the Senate, county governors, women representatives, and members of the 47 county assemblies.
But as the 9th of August approaches, the political atmosphere in Kenya remains charged as the two major presidential contenders, Raila and Ruto, keep bashing each other in their rallies.
The DP-led faction, which runs on the bottom-up economic slogan, has stayed staunch in making the next government, despite their fallout with Jubilee.
With political goodwill and "deep state" factor at his disposal, ODM leader has remained focused on his goal of becoming the country's next president.
As for other coalitions, such as the Okoa Kenya Alliance, they are still unsure on who will be their flagbearer.
We do, however, expect to see more and more political alignments in the months leading up to the next general election, as well.
